Electro-Fenton process in combination with other advanced oxidation processes: Challenges and opportunities

Combination of electro-Fenton (EF) process with other advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) is found very much effective for water and wastewater treatment. The combined including sono-EF (SEF), photo-EF (PEF), electro-peroxone, ferrate-EF EF persulfate allow enhancing the mineralization efficiency treatment as well reducing operational cost toxicity treated wastewater. Even though, there are several advantages in processes, they also present some disadvantages such increased side reactions, energy requirement etc., which challenges to overcome.
